A parka is a type of coat with a hood, often lined with fur or faux fur. The hood is great to protects the face against harsh elements from the weather such as wind and cold. The Caribou Inuit invented this kind of garment, originally made from caribou or seal skin, for hunting and kayaking in the frigid Arctic. A parka is usually about knee-length and is stuffed with down or very warm synthetic fiber.
